The building was originally constructed for the 1865 exhibition and was designed by William Mason. The Hotel, Mount Kosciusko, New South Wales, 1909

350 x 274 mm. A snow scene with skiers in the foreground, with the hotel behind and halfway up the hillside. The opening of Kosciusko as a ski resort was directly due to the work of the famous Sydney photographer Charles Kerry, who in the winter of 1897 led a party from Jindabyne to the summit of Mt. Kosciusko, which in turn led to the building of the hotel and roads.

The Jenolan Caves, New South Wales, 1909

350 x 247 mm. A view in the cave, showing rock formations called 'The Willows', with steps carved out of the stone. A highly spectacular complex of caves situated 70 miles west of Sydney, it has been popular with visitors since the 1860s and a large new cave was found as late as 1953.

The caption reads 'This is the King of Samoa's Palace. The soldiers are the Kings of Honolulu who went to Samoa and endeavoured to take the island. I got it mostly to show the Kings Palace'.
