241 x 190 mm. A view looking along a wooden trestle bridge which skirts around a large rock outcrop near Savona’s Ferry. The line from Port Moody to Savona’s Ferry was completed by Onderdonk at the end of July 1885.

Trestle Bridge on the Stann Creek Railway, 1911
127 x 101 mm. Showing Hondurans sitting on the wooden trestle railway bridge which crosses low ground in the jungle. Completed in the early years of this century, the railway ran from Middlesex to Dangriga along the Stann Creek Valley. Some of the building was done by immigrants from the West Indian islands who came to the Stann Creek area between 1880 and 1890 attracted by the prosperity of the banana plantations in the area.

When the RES Headquarters was rebuilt in 1934-36, gifts of timber for panelling and furnishing were obtained from Empire Governments, companies and individuals. Many were destroyed during the bombing of 1941 and replacement gifts were received. This file coordinates pre and post-war correspondence.

Photographs of which 84 are postcards, and one negative. Despite the label 'Trinidad pictures', some of these images appear to be of England. One has the caption 'Lay Brother's Entrance, Beaulieu Abbey,' but the rest are all uncaptioned, so it is difficult to identify location. In the main, they depict groups of people, scenes of agriculture and some general landscape views.
