271 x 207 mm. Duplicate of BAM 1/34. That print is captioned 'View from St James'. The view looks across a stretch of water towards a settlement of Malay houses raised on piles. It is unclear whether the view looks across the Strait of Johore towards Singapore Island or towards part of the Johore mainland - probably the latter.

297 x 238 mm. View from the eastern side of the Huseinabad Imambara (see Y3022L/49-52) looking across the tank towards the miniature copy of the Taj Mahal on the west side. In the background can be seen the domes and minarets of the Jamma Musjid or Cathedral Mosque. The building was commenced by Muhammad Ali Shah (Nawab of Oudh 1837-42) and completed by Begun Malka Jahan, a surviving member of the royal family. Duplicate at Y3022B/119. Bourne no. 1051.

View looking along the road, which curves round an outcrop on the cliffs in the left foreground, with the houses of the village of Pangi perched on the hillside at a slightly lower level, and the cloud wreathed Chini peaks in the distance. After photographing the junction of the Spiti and Sutlej Rivers, Bourne returned to Sungnam for his baggage and then struck out SW for Chini, 'taking a few views on the road, whenever I found anything worthy', (B.J.P., 18 February 1870, p....

Immediately opposite is a part of the offices of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and next to this, largely obscured by a tree, the Medical Hall founded in 1882.
