The main Jubilee celebrations took place on 29th June 1897 (see Y303B/5) but may well have continued into the following month. The house is surrounded by an eight acre garden and the main entrance is opposite the G.P.O in Queen Street].

This album contains 189 photographs, mostly small snapshots, relating to Mesopotamia in 1916, a visit to Malta on the way to India in 1917, and scenes in India during the First World War and after. Douglas retired to France in 1922 and a number of images relate to this period. Many of the Indian photographs show family and friends.
Questions on the Siamese language, 1824 - 1825
A sheet of 17 questions on the Siamese language written by Burney, accompanied by two copies of the answers, possibly by James Low, a Thai expert at Penang. This material probably dates from the period immediately before Burney's first missions to Siam in 1825.
