248x188mm. General view of the Kaiser Pasund, part of the Kaiser Bagh complex and also known as the Raushan-ud-daula Kothi. The building, which in general form bears some resemblance to the main block of La Martiniere, was built by Raushan-ud-daula, Prime Minister to Nasir-ud-din Haidar (reigned 1827-37).

View looking across the Kalany River, 3 miles outside Colombo towards the iron railway bridge, an 800 foot structure on 8 screw piles and 12 brick piers, built at a cost of about £16,000. ‘Messrs. Slinn's photograph of the Railway Bridge across the Kalany is a fine picture characteristic of the rich foliage which lines the banks of the river and of the rafts which float on its bosom [in foreground], but unfortunately the effect is to convey the idea that the bridge runs...
