161 x 119 mm. Showing Westgate standing in the centre of a group of five German-trained African soldiers, with a dead leopard lying at their feet, the second hed had shot. The askaris were sent to Kiboriani by the German authorities to protect the missionaries at the outbreak of the Maji-Maji Rebellion in 1905. Part of the stockade erected at this time can be seen in the background.
