272 x 207 mm. Showing a large crowd of gaily dressed Swahili men and women gathered in the Mnazi Mmoja Recreation Park, Zanzibar, to celebrate the festival of Siku Kuu. The caption 'Sicucu natives feast' is written on the print itself, and is numbered '18'.

The prints listed were chiefly from the files of the Photo Bureau, the majority being mounted on sheets of paper with substantial descriptions, and in many cases the negative attached. Titles and captions, including the names of institutions, have been recorded as found. Captions supplied by the cataloguer are enclosed in square brackets.
Sierra Leone 1938: a geographer's journey
A description of Robert Steel's five months in Sierra Leone based on his notes, diaries and letters to his fiancée, 93 pages. The work was begun by Steel in the time leading up to his death, and completed and edited by his son-in-law, Colin Johnson. There is an accompanying letter from Eileen Steel to the R.C.S. Librarian, 8 January 2000.
