Nigerian Troops in the Congo, circa 1960

A collection of photographs, measuring 240 x 180 mm, probably by official photographers, of the air lift of Nigerian troops to the Congo as part of the United Nations force (ONUC). The first of these went in November 1960: those serving in Kivu Province, where Kindi is situated, were the 5th Battalion and the Field Squadron. Nigerian troops served in the Congo until 1964.

Nyasaland diaries of David Lawson

Eleven diaries beginning in Cape Town, 1 January 1932, which Lawson was travelling through on route to take up his post, and continuing with occasional gaps up to 1943. The writing is mainly manuscript, but there are some inserted typescript entries. Although Lawson's will bequeathed 'the diaries written by me while a member of the Colonial Civil Service in Nyasaland from 1932 to 1944', there are no volumes for 1941 or 1944.

A collection of uncaptioned loose prints, each measuring approximately 290 x 200 mm. Joined together the prints form a panoramic view of about 180 degrees. The viewpoint of the photographer is from an unidentified building between the High Street and the sea a few hundred yards east of Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral.
