161 x 101 mm. A blurred print. A view showing a group of Grenadier guards on the Parade Ground. After the success of the Battle of the Atbara, the army moved northwards to summer quarters. During the months of July and August they were reinforced by a brigade formed from the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards, the Lancashire Fusiliers and other units. On August 24 this strengthened army of over 22,000 men moved southwards to start the second phase of the campaign.
