Bell of the 'Shannon', 1910
194 x 244 mm. Showing the bell of HMS 'Shannon', dated 1740 and set into the Bermuda dockyard wall. The bell celebrates the victory of the 'Shannon' over the USS 'Chesapeake' outside Boston during the War of 1812. 'Shannon' probably came to Bermuda to refit and left the bell as a trophy.

Bermuda, 1951 - 1953
A series of photographs relating to the career of Sir Raynor Arthur. Arthur arrived in Bermuda in the summer of 1951 as Colonial Secretary and went on leave, prior to taking up his post as Governor of the Falkland Islands, in December 1953. He was appointed C. M. G. in August 1953 and during the Queen's visit in November he was invested with the C. V. O. Unless otherwise stated, the Bermuda photographs are approximately 255 x 200 mm.

The caption on the face of the print reads: 'Architecture in Bermuda follows the more or less unique pattern. This little cottage nestling among Bermuda cedar trees is typical of buildings in Bermuda, with its stepped, whitewashed roof, designed for catching rainwater for drinking purposes. Both the typed caption, and the reverse of the print (handwritten in pencil) have the reference '4711-33'. The print is also stamped by the Bermuda News Bureau, with the photographers name.

These comprise 29 Kodachrome slides printed in England undated, 4 Ektachromes and one in a grey and red Photopia frame. They are not captioned or numbered by John Ewart Marnham and arranged by processing number.
