This collection of photographs spans the whole of LSA’s life. It contains both personal photographs of family and friends, and official and press photographs from his political career.

This series includes photographs of apparatus, laboratories, scientists, award ceremonies and visits abroad.

Mainly press photographs, including portraits of NK, photographs of various visits and events, and photographs from the 1987 General Election campaign.

The material at Churchill Archives Centre comprises Dr Steiner’s business and personal papers. They are in English, French and German. They consist mainly of Dr Steiner’s business correspondence (mostly in English) with the other Directors of the Boards on which he served particularly concerning the international political situation as it affected the gold standard and international finance. There are also some personal papers in German and an extensive collection of family photographs.

Includes many photographs of WSC collected by RSC, partly for use in the official biography, photographs and other papers for use in RSC's autobiography "Twenty One Years" and other photographs of RSC throughout his career.

The Papers consist of political papers, correspondence, speeches and press cuttings, mainly relating to Trade Unions, the Ministry of Labour and National Service, and the Foreign Office.

Photographs taken by Czech friends of Professor Pole's parents, showing damage done to their own apartment block in Prague, Czechoslovakia [later Czech Republic and Slovakia].

This series consists of a number of photographs and slides of scientists and models. There are also some negatives. Much of the material has been copied from secondary published sources and is highly likely to have been used in Max Perutz's own lectures and publications. Negative numbers for the MRC LMB photographs are provided on the back of many.
