Printed copies of letters from 2nd Lord Linlithgow [earlier Lord Hopetoun] to LSA on subjects including: negotiations with Mahomed Jinnah [Leader of the Muslim League], Mohandas Gandhi, Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru and the Indian Congress; the war situation; Sir Alexander Roger and his Ministry of Supply mission to India; the Bombay Conference; Linlithgow's Executive Council, particularly expansion; filling governorships; inventions by Chaim Weizmann in yeast and molasses-based food and fuel production; constitutional affairs; Linlithgow's Political Advisership; control of Iran and Iraq; the immigration dispute between India and Burma [later Myanmar]; the Satyagraha movement.
