Letters from Sir [Lawrence] Roger Lumley [Governor, 1937-43, later 11th Lord Scarbrough], then Sir [David] John Colville [Governor, 1943-48, later 1st Lord Clydesmuir] to LSA on subjects including: showing news reels in Indian villages; the supply of news to Governors; the effect of developments in the war on Bombay; Lumley's wish to end his governorship; recommendation of Sir Gilbert Wiles, LSA's new adviser; rationing in Bombay and the situation in provinces producing a food surplus; post-war reconstruction; the political stalemate; welfare of the troops.
