Copies of letters from LSA to Sir [Lawrence] Roger Lumley [Governor, 1937-43, later 11th Lord Scarbrough], then Sir [David] John Colville [Governor, 1943-48, later 1st Lord Clydesmuir], on subjects including: the distribution of news reels through Indian villages; the supply of news to Governors; Henry Stebelski, Polish Consul at Bombay and his mission to help Poles stranded in Asia; an extension of Lumley's tenure; Sir [Richard] Stafford Cripps's mission to the Indian Congress; the famine in Bengal [parts of Bangladesh and India]; Bombay's post-war reconstruction; negotiations between Mohandas Gandhi and Mohamed Jinnah; the 1945 General Election.
