Correspondence between LSA and [William] Mackenzie King, Prime Minister of Canada, on subjects including: the progress of the war, particularly the success of the Royal Air Force; the constitutional deadlock on India; the death of 11th Lord Lothian [British Ambassador to the United States, earlier Philip Kerr] and the difficulty of replacing him; Sir [Richard] Stafford Cripps's mission to the Indian Congress; the hunger strike by Mohandas Gandhi; replacing the Speaker's Chair destroyed by bombing; the appointment of 1st Lord Wavell as Viceroy of India; mountain warfare; LSA's tribute to Winston Churchill's leadership; King's sympathy for LSA on the loss of his seat in Parliament.
