Biographical / Historical
The vast majority of photographs in this file were commissioned by Churchill College and were looked after by Anne Hammerton, Conference Manager. Many of the images were used in publicity, fundraising and marketing materials, including early versions of the college's website. The file was later (c 2001) passed to the Senior Tutor, Dr Alan Findlay, who was seeking images to refresh the prospectus and online information available to prospective students. Some of the later images, particularly of student activities, were commissioned by Dr Findlay or were passed on to him.
Language of Materials
The photographs have been re-arranged into the three broad categories indicated in the catalogue description. This re-arrangement was necessary because photographs of the same views or subjects had become separated from one another in the original file (perhaps as versions were selected for use in publications etc.)
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Deposited by admissions team, Oct 2008.
