Covers progress and developments in knowledge, technology and science and their use in World War I; the potential for extermination of the human race; possibility of another war in Europe; speculation on the development of explosive weapons "Might not a bomb no bigger than an orange be found to possess a secret power", and of pilot-less aircraft, chemical and biological weapons.
