Scope and Contents
Subjects include: anxiety about relations between Britain and the United States; the dangerous situation in Germany's Baltic provinces; the work of private charities in Germany; the French attempt to take control of Luxembourg's railways under the Versailles Treaty; putting Kaiser Wilhelm II on trial; modifications to the border between Poland and Germany; a suggestion that there had been a suppression of the facts about the outbreak of war; establishing the principle of war crimes and bringing war criminals to justice; the Kautsky documents on the origin of the war; lack of co-operation between press sections in the Foreign Office; the treatment of the Jews in Poland and Britain's position on the matter at the League of Nations.
Also includes a note from Sir Esme Howard, British Ambassador to Spain, on the Spanish military junta and the lack of information about it and Labour generally..
