Scope and Contents This is a replica of a ding 鼎 ritual food vessel. The original dates from the Western Zhou period and is in the collection of the National Palace Museum in Taipei. 'This lobed tripod ding has two lugs on the rim and simple cylindrical legs. The three units of decoration on the body are centred over the three legs, each one consisting of an animal mask flanked on either side by downward-facing gui dragons.
