This letter mentions lectures on ‘Hoppy’ [Frederick Gowland Hopkins] and the Cambridge biochemistry laboratory ( 'biochemists to whom I had to speak on Hoppy's lab. Including about Mrs Bulley, MS, DJL, Mrs Onslow, Rose Scott-Moncrieff, and of course much about you plus GD and Kamala. Also JBSH, the Piries, and many others, as also Hoppy's special ways'), gunpowder, a radio interview about Chinese medicine and news of a telephone conversation with Shih Hsüeh-Yen. Also encloses a copy letter to Gregory Blue giving details of travel plans to meet Dorothy Needham in Athens, conservation of Joseph Needham's former chemical embryology offprint collection in the library at Toledo, Ohio and three Harris Foundation lectures. Includes the envelope, a printed map of North America from the Northwest Orient flight magazine and a newspaper cutting entitled 'China expert recounts travels; speaks on acupuncture today' published in The Daily Northwestern.
