No price is given, but the sleeves and inserts use full form characters, indicating a date before the widespread use of simplified characters after 1956.
One sleeve has instructions for storage and handling of the record, as well as an advertisement for sending in old and broken records for recycling. The remuneration for doing so is given as 0.64 RMB per kilogram, indicating a production date after the revaluation of the Chinese currency in March 1955. Joseph Needham has also sketched a map on the front of the sleeve.
