Copies of semi-official letters 1-405 and 407-426 from W.J. Keswick (mainly), H. Flint, J.H. Keswick and W.E.D. Smith, Matheson & Co. Ltd, to Sir J.D.K. Brown, Sir G.M. Mackinlay E.A. Paterson and J.V. Jardine Paterson, Jardine Henderson Ltd, Calcutta, with enclosed letters and papers. A note records that letter no. 406 was cancelled. The subjects covered include accounts, the 'Eastern Saga' smuggling case, Indian taxation, Matheson & Co.'s Calcutta branch, tea, the Triton Insurance Co. Ltd and staff. The ring-binder is labelled 'Outwards Calcutta 1950 to 1960 1' on the spine.
