Scope and Contents

Semi-official letters nos 1 and 3-55 from W.S. Dupree, G.M. Jameson and A. Ross, Hankow, to B.D.F. Beith, Shanghai, 27 January-29 December 1927; eight unnumbered semi-official letters from R.M. Austin and B.D.F. Beith, Shanghai, to W.S. Dupree and A. Ross, Hankow, 7 January-1 March 1927; and semi-official letters nos 9-40 from R.M. Austin and (mainly) B.D.F. Beith, Shanghai, to W.S. Dupree, Hankow, 16 March-30 December 1927, with enclosed letters and papers. There are also property letters nos P.1-13 from Hankow to Shanghai, 25 April-29 December 1927, and P.148-161 from Shanghai to Hankow, 23 February-28 December 1927.

There is no semi-official letter no. 2 from Hankow to Shanghai, but there is an unnumbered letter of 30 January 1927 which may have occupied this position - a letter of 1 March 1927 from Shanghai to Hankow acknowledges the receipt of a letter no. 2 from Hankow.
