Scope and Contents

Correspondence of L.G. Frost with suppliers regarding supplies for the Jardine Engineering Corporation Ltd. The correspondence is addressed to Frost at a number of locations, including at Continentale Produkten-Gesellschaft, m.b.H., of Hamburg, with whom he spent a part of 1950. The correspondence is in three files:

1. Correspondence with Belgium and Switzerland: originals and copies of letters to Frost, arranged into alphabetical sections, with other letters, telegrams and related papers, 1 October-16 November 1950. The correspondents include Emeg, S.A., Zurich; Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Geigy Ltd, Manchester; Arthur Guttinger, Zurich; Intermerkur A.S. Handelgesellschaft, Zurich; Krebbs & Co. Ltd, Zurich; Charles Leys & Co. Ltd, Brussels; and Walter Reinle, engineer, Zurich. The ring-binder is labelled 'Belgium & Switzerland'.

2. Copies and originals of miscellaneous correspondence of L.G. Frost and the Jardine Engineering Corporation, Tientsin, arranged into alphabetical sections, with telegrams and related papers, 20 September-25 November 1950. The correspondents include Büssing Nutzkraftwagen G.m.b.H., Braunschweig, Germany; Demag Aktiengesellschaft, Duisburg, Germany; Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong; and Siemssen & Co., Hamburg. The folder is unlabelled.

3. Copies and originals of miscellaneous correspondence, including telegrams, 1950. There are letters from Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, to L.G. Frost, c/o Continentale Produkten-Gesellschaft, m.b.H., Hamburg; letters from the Jardine Engineering Corporation, Tientsin, to Frost and to Continentale Produkten-Gesellschaft, m.b.H., Hamburg; and other letters. There are also notes on the 'Mujar Scheme', 17 pages. The folder is unlabelled.

The files are in a Matheson & Co. Ltd envelope labelled 'Mr L.G. Frost's Direct Correspondence and Telegrams with China (Tientsin etc.) and Continental Suppliers - 1950'.
