Originals and copies of letters to B.D.F. Beith, Matheson & Co. Ltd, from Directors employed elsewhere during the war period. The correspondents are D.G.M. Bernard, Bank of England, J.H. Keswick, Chungking, London, New Delhi and elsewhere, W.J. Keswick, London and elsewhere, and D.F. Landale, Dumfries and London (including the Ministry of War Transport). There are also some letters from Beith to these correspondents and related letters and papers.

The subjects covered include British interests in post-war China, Ewo Cotton Mills, Indo-China Steam Navigation Co. Ltd and Jardine, Matheson & Co.'s Provident Fund. The ring-binder is labelled 'Letters from W.J. Keswick & D.G.M. Bernard to B.D.F. Beith'.
