Copies of letters from B.D.F. Beith, Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, to J.J. Paterson, Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, with two letters from Beith to F.A. Pollock, Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, and one letter to J.H. Keswick, Portman Square, London. A letter from Beith to Paterson of 9 September 1941 encloses copies of a letter from J.H. Keswick, Dumfries, to D.G.M. Bernard, London, 27 August 1941, and of Bernard's reply, 9 September 1941, both regarding Keswick's deployment to the Embassy at Chungking. The other subjects covered in the file include the war in Europe and the Far East and Jardine, Matheson & Co.'s Private Office. The ring-binder is labelled 'London/Hkg. B.D.F. Beith Private Correspondence'.
