Copies of correspondence and related papers regarding the registration of members of staff of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd and their relatives as British citizens. The file contains correspondence (including extracts of letters) between Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, and Jardine Matheson, Shanghai; correspondence between Matheson & Co. Ltd and other correspondents, including M.P. Keyes, London, and Linklaters & Paines, London; and other letters and papers. Most of the material is concerned with obtaining British citizenship for M.P. Keyes of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd, and the file includes memoranda regarding his case. The ring-binder is labelled 'British Citizenship File I'.
