Copies and extracts of correspondence (including a few telegrams) between Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, and Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, regarding shipping other than the Indo-China Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. The correspondents include B.D.F. Beith, London and Shanghai, D.G.M. Bernard, London, J.H. Keswick, Shanghai, W.J. Keswick, Shanghai, D.F. Landale, Hong Kong, J.J. Paterson, Hong Kong, and F.A. Pollock, Shanghai.

Loose inside the folder are copies of a small set of correspondence of Matheson & Co. Ltd with Martin Hill, Secretary, Liverpool Steamship Owners Association, Liverpool; Colin C. Scott, London; and G.W. Sheppard, Brighton, 2 June 1934-16 July 1935, regarding China coastal shipping, particularly Chinese towage regulations, with related papers.

Ltd, London, 5 September 1929. A note on letter no. 15 in J4/4/1 records that Shaw's letter and Butterfield & Swire's lists have been transferred to this file.
