Scope and Contents
Correspondence between B.D.F. Beith and J.F. Owen, Matheson & Co. Ltd, and R.O.S. Milde, Miles & Kitson Ltd, with many related letters, including correspondence between Matheson & Co. Ltd and E.F. Aucott, Cults, Esher and Stirling; A.G.A. Rainey, Porritt, Rainey & Co., chartered accountants, Canterbury; and A.C. Sterling, R.C. Treatt & Co. Ltd, London. There are also some copies of correspondence between Matheson & Co. Ltd and W.J. Keswick, Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, and J.J. Paterson, Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, as well as other papers, including a set of five schedules of balance sheets, trading and profit and loss accounts, comparative purchases and sales, and sales analysis of Miles & Kitson, with a covering letter from Porritt, Rainey & Co. to Matheson & Co. Ltd, 23 January 1939. The ring-binder is labelled 'Miles & Kitson Ltd.'
