Scope and Contents
A wide range of accounts and other business papers from China, Hong Kong, Japan and other places relating to Jardine, Matheson & Co. and associated companies and individuals. The papers include abstracts; balances and trial balances; bills of exchange; current accounts; delivery orders; disbursements accounts; documents regarding the 'Hong Kong Times' and 'Daily Advertiser'; invoices; payment orders, cash vouchers and cheques; receipts; reports on merchandise; sales accounts; valuations of goods; and papers regarding shipping, including accounts and bills; bills of lading; boat notes; manifests and freight lists; and shipping lists. The series also includes several large sets of miscellaneous bills, memoranda and other documents.
