Album of photographs, watercolours and newspaper articles, chiefly relating to mountaineering, 1882 - 1918
Scope and Contents
The photographs and watercolours are chiefly of the Alps, mountaineers, Alpine villages and flora. The newspaper articles are Wherry's accounts of Alpine mountaineering. There are also smaller quantities of pencil sketches of, among others, Caldy Island, Manorbier Castle in Pembrokeshire and Etretat on the coast of Normandy; together with photographs of the lower leg and foot of the adult male and baby [? taken for Wherry's book Alpine notes and the climbing foot (1896)] and loose cuttings and family snaps.
