Junee Junction, station exterior, 1887

 Item
Reference Code: GBR/0115/RCS/Y3086E/6

Scope and Contents

345 x 262 mm. A view of the station buildings and entrance, with passers by posing for the photographer. These attractive railway buildings proved to be a good example of the railway's role in economic expansion: 'The original township is five miles away from Junee Junction, but now in the vicinity of the station a new township has been formed. It contains several hotels, two brick-yards, timber yard, gas-works (for supplying the Railway carriages), and a flour-mill is proposed' (NSW Registrar-General's Office 1886, p.96).

Junee lies 23 miles north of Wagga Wagga.
