Caxton Street and Market Square, 1902
Scope and Contents
300 x 105 mm. A view showing the section of Caxton Street which adjoins the market square. Identified among the ruins are the Union Castle Co. offices and the Grand Hotel. A note states 'Sparks and blazing material carried from lower end of square by force of gale, these set a stack of forage alight near the corner and soon adjoining buildings were in a blaze, the fire gradually extending to the whole block.'
