Scope and Contents
152 x 206 mm. The caption continues: 'visiting Durban from the Stanger district, wearing the married woman's special skirt of soft black skin, kilted, numerous necklaces, and beaded headdress on her finely plaited hair, rubbed with fat and clay. The children wear only a girdle and necklace of beads. 1948.' Although not credited in this album, an identical photograph by Mignon Herring is held in an album at the Killie Campbell Africana Library under the reference Album D10/001-255 Zulu Customs: Book 2 [BRN 309409]. The photograph is titled, 'Patusa Nzuza's second wife and children'.
