 File
Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.10275/5/7/2/1/4

Scope and Contents

A file containing a variety of material connected to a charity event for the Hackney Empire Theatre, which was held at Sotheby's London-based auction house, on 12 July 2000, involving an exhibition of Spitting Image puppets and other related material. This event took place during the 14-day period when the Sotheby's/Amazon.com online auction of Spitting Image puppets was active. As part of the event, a number of puppets and other items were auctioned off to those in attendance.

Material present in the file includes: several examples of the event invitation sent to those who attended, along with a draft version of it; a letter and a small note to Roger Law from two individuals who were at the event; and photographs of the charity auction. There is also an optical disc that holds digital copies of seven photographs taken of a Sotheby's exhibition space, which displayed various puppets from the series and other associated material, as part of the charity event.
