First Sotheby's Auction Material, 1999 - 2002
Scope and Contents
Correspondence, photographic material, and sale documentation relating to the first Spitting Image auction, which was hosted on the internet by Sotheby's auction house and Amazon.com, over a 14-day period, between 7 and 20 July 2000. As part of that auction, a charity event for the Hackney Empire Theatre was held at Sotheby's on 12 July, which involved an exhibition of Spitting Image puppets, and an auction of select puppets and items.
