Watercolour of Robert Gouger's residence, 1958 - 1967
Scope and Contents
Two photographs (with negatives), 1958, each 8½'' x 6½'', of a watercolour by John Skipper of Robert Gouger's residence at Glenelg, South Australia, and of the inscription (now lost) on its rear. The collection also includes undated xerox copies of the following items: the catalogue entry for the original watercolour in the Mitchell Library, Sydney; a letter to Miss P. Mander Jones from E.B. and K.A. Everett, 12 July 1958, from whom it was purchased; a letter from Mander-Jones to the Mitchell Librarian on the authenticity of the picture, 1 September 1958; and a memorandum by Mander-Jones on this subject, 31 August 1959.
