General
GD. Karen Brown of the School of Fine Arts of Indiana University supplied the following note: 'This is probably a view of a wedding performed at Henley Dam (near Pietermaritzburg) for the 1905 visit of the British Association for the Advancement of Science. This event was organized by the Native Affiars Dept. (Natal) and the Railways. The Railways did employ a photographer, but I do not know if he and Cleland were one and the same. Yale University (Archives and Mss) Library has an album from ths visit which shows similar scenes'.
