Scope and Contents

A file containing full issues and tearsheets for the British weekly current affairs magazine/newspaper, The Economist, which feature Luck & Flaw plasticine model illustrations. All these illustrations appear on the front covers of the issues.

The following are present:

1. Two tearsheets containing the front cover of issue 20-26 December 1975, which features an illustration of British Prime Minister, Harold Wilson, depicted as a car salesman; photographic image taken by Bob Cramp (L&F/251).

2. Two tearsheets containing the front cover of issue 20-26 March 1976, which features an illustration of Harold Wilson, depicted in regal attire, accompanied by the title, Abdication Crisis; photographic image taken by Bob Cramp (L&F/252).

3. Issue 10-16 April 1976, along with a tearsheet for the cover, which features an illustration of British Labour politician, Denis Healey, depicted as a magician; photographer is unknown (L&F/139).

4. Issue 5-11 May 1979, which features an illustration of British politicians, Margaret Thatcher, David Steel and James Callaghan, depicted as revellers at the 'Eatanswill Club;' photographic image taken by John Lawrence Jones (L&F/236).

5. Tearsheets containing the front cover of issue 29 September-5 Octobr 1979, which features an illustration of British Labour politicians, Tony Benn and James Callaghan, depicted as boxers; photographic image taken by John Lawrence Jones (L&F/26).
