The Oakridge Report, c 1962
Scope and Contents
A large mural containing a felt-tip pen and coloured crayon illustration, which relates to nuclear conflict. There is a caption, surrounded in what might be a representation of a mushroom cloud, which reads, 'The goody goodies and the fancy pants brains minus brawn - are the most apt to fall by the wayside during a nuclear war. It is more a question of people out of control than the atom out of control. I recommend that everyone with a fall out shelter should be equipped with gun [sic]. I recommend shooting anyone trying to invade your fall out shelter. - Dr. Hurt, Oakeridge Report.' The remainder of the illustration depicts American football players in a fallout shelter (RL/Pre-/1485).
