Group [? At Kota Bahru], Kelantan, circa 1914, 1914
Scope and Contents
293 x 241 mm. Showing a mixed European and Malay group seated along the edge of a tennis court, presumably during a championship match since there are a number of cups in front of the Sultan. The photograph was taken at the same location as BAM 6/14, although at a different season. Figures identified in the group are: Gordon Lupton HAM (1885-1965); Malayan Civil Service 1908-1941; Magistrate, Kota Bahru [i.e. Baharu]1913-1917; Resident, Negri [i.e. Negeri] Sembilan 1937- ; William LANGHAM-CARTER; Sultan MUHAMMAD IV; Mrs LANGHAM-CARTER; Mrs TAYLOR; Medical Officer, Kelantan 1915-1916 (standing in for J.D. Gimlette); Raja Kelantan, later Sultan ISMAIL; A.R. WHITE; Chief Draughtsman, Survey Department, Kelantan until 1916, when he left for war service.
