The University Archives are generally freely available to the holder of a reader's ticket for the Manuscripts Reading Room at Cambridge University Library, West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DR. Restrictions on access are imposed on certain categories of sensitive record: financial, governmental and personal, by order of the originating body or under data protection legislation. Biographical / Historical

The society was established in 1935 for students with an interest in Mathematics. Its activities range from speaker meetings, journal publication and second-hand textbook sales to dinners and outings.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The records were transferred to the University Archives on permanent loan in batches by: Robert Beattie, Trinity College, in June 2000, Alan Bain, Trinity College on 4 August 2000 and Joseph Myers, Trinity College, on 19 July 2003, 20 Dec. 2004, 14 June 2005. A small part had been transferred to Cambridge University Library, Manuscripts Department in 1980 and withdrawn in 1989.
