Research notes: Box 3, 1944 - 1959
Scope and Contents
Notes are tied into numbered bundles which correspond to the following themes:
1) notes on the assize courts in the later Middle Ages;
2) notes relating to medieval parliaments, chiefly examples of terminology with special reference to the phrase 'in pleno parliamento' and kindred expressions. Used for TRHS article 1944 and Raleigh Lecture 1945;
3) topographical and other notes on London, compiled late 1950s, perhaps in connection with work on Eyre of London 1321 (other notes may have been handed on to Professor Milsom). 2 bundles in 1 - taken from HMC's own boxes 5-6 and 9.
