This section is largely based on a previous listing made in the 1970s. This previous listing may not have been made to archival principles but its order has been left largely intact, partly for want of further information on the original order and partly because the papers had already been cited according to the previous list.

The section includes working papers for publications; papers relating to speeches, talks, lectures and conferences; and papers relating to teaching. There is some overlap between the three subdivisions, for example lectures will usually be found in subdivision 2 rather than under Teaching in subdivision 3, but sometimes they are in subdivision 1, especially where they have been published.
