The original envelope was labelled in Aelfrida Tillyard's hand: Alethea's letters St Cuthbert's 1938. The letters are mostly addressed from St Cuthbert's: also East London, C P, December 1937 and January 1938; Maritzburg June 1938; Natal July 1938; St Bede's College Umtata October 1938 and 12 December 1938; and Grahamstown December 1938. The file also contains one letter from Ruth [Warren?] to Alethea, 16 December 1937.
