Fordfield. Personal: news of Willie Searle's engagement; continuation of relationship with Anthony Wrightson; considers marrying him; continued periods of ill health. Children: visiting A+A at Girton; Alethea to a social study week at Toynbee Hall in London; John Wedgwood still very keen on Alethea; Alethea gets a job in Paris; Agatha does some teaching in Sheringham; AT and Agatha have a week in Hastings. Family: usual visits to Merton House; death of Aunt Laura; Veronica and Angela have whooping cough; mother has left Fordfield to AT in her will. Visitors include Fidelio; Willie Searle; Helen Megaw and various admirers of A+A. Activities include: preparing and delivering various lectures, including a new series on mysticism; British Women's Temperance Association meetings; teaching; taking on her father's role as a director of the Cambridge Steam Laundry Ltd. Writing: 'Concrete' and 'Can I be a Mystic?' both published by Hutchinsons; 'Concrete' appears to fall rather flat in spite of good reviews; Hutchinsons decline to publish 'Haste to the Wedding'. Religion: church at St Botolph's and St Columba's; meditation with Juan Mascaro; occasional visions and spiritual experiences. Pasted in at back: 4 photographs, including Anthony Wrightson, Alethea, Agatha and AT.
