Fordfield. Personal: a close relationship begins with Anthony Wrightson, a former pupil; continued bouts of ill health. Children: Alethea spends time in Florence in spring 1929 and achieves a II/1 in her Tripos examinations. Family: death of father on 9 Oct 1929. Visitors include Helen Megaw; Nadja; Willie Searle; and various admirers of the girls. Activities include lecturing on the Buddhist Contribution to Spiritual Religion; round of summer walks, picnics, tennis and May Week activities; Summer School teaching. Writing: revising 'The Way we Grow Old' (which Hutchinsons are to publish); writes most of 'Haste to the Wedding'; Hodder and Stoughton make an offer for 'Concrete'. Religion: church at St Columba's; occasional references to spiritual experiences and guardian angel; meditation at Little St Mary's. Pasted in at back: 12 photographs including Alethea aged 21; Summer School class with AT and Alethea; Willie Searle; Constance.
