Fordfield. Personal: continued thoughts and dreams of Constantine; continued bouts of illness; prolonged debate over whether or not to marry Willie Searle - AT feels her choice lies between that and becoming a nun. Children: April 1925, Alethea and Agatha are confirmed in the C of E; summer cycle rides and walks round Cambridgeshire; Oct 1925, discussions re possibility of Alethea going to Girton College; many men now visiting Alethea and Agatha, several of them evidently keen on marrying one or other of them. Family: Stephen and Veronica are regularly mentioned in Alethea's and Agatha's record books; trips to Sawston to visit Phyllis and Eustace; Julius and Mina adopt a daughter called Constance; P+E move to Merton House, Queens' Road, Cambridge - visits; Sep 1925 - death of Leo the cat; death of Olive [Mudie-Cooke, Phyllis' sister]. Visitors and those visited include Fidelio; Father Tompkinson (High Church Curate of St Mary's the Less); Willie Searle; Joan Wood; and Miss Major, Miss Clover and Miss Murray of Girton. Activities include entertaining orphans from the Cottage Home; a rare visit to the theatre; Mothers' Meeting at Emmanuel [Church?]; teaching German and French. Writing: 26 Feb. 1925 - finishes book on Spiritual Exercises. Religion: Alethea and Agatha accompany AT to St Columba's and St Botolph's; discussions with Father Tompkinson re Anglo-Catholicism; July 1925 - first thoughts re joining a religious community. Pasted in at back: 9 photographs, including the garden at Fordfield 1925; Alethea and Agatha in their confirmation dresses; Uncle Henry, Chiara [AT's mother], cousin George, Cannes 1925; I[an] Dalrymple of Trinity College [AT considers him a suitable husband for Alethea or Agatha]; Nadja; and The Brook, Sawston [home of Phyllis and Eustace.
