Fordfield - Fordham - Fordfield. Personal: various ailments; letter from Constantine to Alethea and Agatha; letter from Anatolia [Constantine's mother] enquiring after the children is copied into the diary. Family: trips to Sawston to see Phyllis and Eustace; niece Angela is born to P+E Oct 1924; P+E are thinking of having a house built for them in Cambridge. Visitors and those visited include Willie Searle; Fidelio; Joan Wood [a friend of Agatha]; Mrs Montagu Butler (to hear about Christian Science). Places visited include Fordham, Cambridgeshire, April 1924. Activities include giving a lecture on Mrs Eddy (a Christian Scientist); giving a lecture on George Tyrell as part of a series of lectures on Christian Types at Cheshunt College, Bateman Street; giving Italian lessons; garden party at Homerton College; visits to the University Library; voting Liberal in an election in Oct 1924. Writing: April 1924, free copies of 'Messages' arrive from the Faith Press. Religion: visions; attending church at St Botolph's; Willie Searle is interested in spiritualism, but AT takes the view that 'S. is all right if you investigated specifically and did not let it usurp the place of religion'; messages from guardian angel. Pasted in at back: 7 photographs, including AT's passport photograph (aged about 41) and Alethea's; Julius; AT's mother; Willie Searle; Agatha, Alethea, and Veronica [niece].
