Scope and Contents
Cambridge. This volume is apparently written in an old college notebook of Constantine's. Personal: continued and detailed deliberation over the state of her relationship with Constantine, including the history of their sexual relationship; continued bouts of illness; visits Constantine in Lyons in May 1919. Family: Julius becomes professor of Latin and Greek at Birmingham - he is questioned on his political opinions and about his German wife; Eustace and Phyllis marry in March 1919. The children have chickenpox. Visitors and those visited include Fidelio; Dorothy Smith; and Lilian Whitehouse. Places visited include Linton, Cambridgeshire, in September 1918 and in April 1919. Comment on the end of the war. Activities include a conference at Girton College, August 1918, at which AT gives a lecture on Modern Churchmen; some school teaching; taking the Mothers' Service at Cambridge Place. Writing: AT's novel 'Marrying a Stranger' is sent to the publisher Fisher Unwin. Religion: more preaching; more visions. Pasted in at back: 10 photographs, including Constantine at Chamonix, 1918, and Le Lac d'Annecy.
